~Homelessness~
In today's uncertain economy, anyone can be homeless.
There are no discriminating factors such as age, race, or gender.
It's a devastating problem that can be solved!
This project's main goal is to become educated about this problem and serve the homeless while collaborating with technology.
Here's an overview of this project:
1. Participants will chose a region to research homelessness in their country- see Lesson Activity #5 and complete a Power Point of their research.
2. Participants will also research the homeless organizations and shelters in their selected region.
3. Participants will post their research in our Community Forum.
4. All participants will interact with one another in our Community Forum as well as Our Live Journal to comment and share their findings on homelessness in their selected regions.
5. Participants are encouraged to complete at least 2 of the other Lesson Activities as outlined.
6. Partipants will organize a service project to benefit a homeless shelter or homeless organization of their choice. Community service hours will be granted to those who complete all the above requirements.
7. When complete, students will reflect on their service project experience in our Live Journal under "Your Homeless Service Experience." (**This step is essential in gaining your community service hours, so please make sure each participant lists the specific hours they served to get service credit).
Together we can become educated about homelessness while making a difference!
